Practice sessions are essential for improvement, the junior championship is not till September but you should be trying your best now when the fishing is never easy as fish do not like bright sunny days, most fish feed either at dusk or on the evening rise just as the sun is going down, then you have the hatching days when you must match the food the fish are chomping on this could be the May fly, Hawthorn or Caddis
Study the fly life around the pools and if you can, try and either purchase or make the same pattern (match the hatch)
